Igniting curiosity, encouraging exploration, and inspiring creativity.

Stroll into what feels like Leonardo’s jumbo sketchbook, only everything’s popping off the page. You crank a gear on a machine he dreamt up five centuries ago, flip through every one of his manuscripts, and let stunning wrap-around projections pull you straight into the Renaissance. Then you head to the STEAMworks Lab to hack together your own invention. It's all launching late 2025 in Pueblo, Colorado.

Explore immersive learning zones inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s core passions.

Interactive Machines & Robotics

Step into a living sketchbook where Leonardo’s ideas rise off the page. Master craftsmen from the Artisans of Florence have recreated interactive machines and other models authentically constructed with materials of the era.

Visitors can turn cranks, lift weights, and watch gears mesh exactly as Leonardo envisioned, proof that a 500-year-old imagination still works flawlessly today.

Immersive Genius Hall

A darkened hall comes alive as 270-degree projections summon Leonardo, Galileo, and Archimedes to tell their stories in first person. Galaxies swirl underfoot, sketches animate overhead, and surround-sound narration places you at the moment the world's greatest minds first discovered the hidden laws of nature, inviting you to witness their breakthroughs as if you were standing in the workshop beside them.

Leonardo Library

Quiet but electric with possibility, the library houses one of the only complete collections in the world of Leonardo da Vinci’s codices. While Da Vinci never published a formal book, he left behind thousands of pages of notes and drawings scattered, handwritten, and encrypted in mirror script. Browse pages on interactive tables or pull a rare-book tray to study his mirrored handwriting up close. Scholars find a research sanctuary; dreamers find a portal into the mind of history’s greatest polymath. Both leave with new questions to chase.

STEAM Science Center

In the STEAM Science Center, curiosity is the only ticket you need. These rotating experiences invite youth and adults alike to explore how things are made. They are especially built for young minds to light up, ask questions, and build their own ideas from the sparks that Da Vinci left behind. Come crank a gear, build a bridge, test a robot or learn flight principles. Launch your curiosity and help us shape a future powered by knowledge and wonder.
The museum is a developing concept to further the education and awareness of the arts and sciences in southern Colorado and beyond.

Global Connections

At the first Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America, we are proud to work closely with the famous Leonardo da Vinci Museum in Florence, Italy, and the skilled Artisans of Florence. This partnership makes sure our exhibits are true to Leonardo's brilliance, crafted by top Italian artisans using materials from the Renaissance period. Each life-sized machine replica and interactive display comes from Florence, showcasing the rich heritage and exceptional craftsmanship of Leonardo's homeland.
The Artisans of Florence bring Leonardo’s legacy to life through temporary touring collections, hosted by museums worldwide. We are fortunate to be one of those museums offering a permanent display in North America while engaging with its sister museums in Italy and South Korea, as well as associates in Australia and Brazil.

Frequently Asked Questions

Update: On February 20, the Colorado Economic Development Commission (EDC) approved our bid to lease the space.

Our museum location will be at 310 Central Main Street Pueblo, CO, United States, Colorado 81003 next to the Pueblo Convention Center and Historic Arkansas Riverwalk. This 18,000+ sq ft space will include exhibits, a gift shop and outdoor Cafe Leonardo. Future expansion will include the restored Centennial planetarium.

Why Pueblo?
The Sangre de Cristo Arts Center displayed an exhibit of Leonardo da Vinci’s models. After the exhibit ended, we kept the models in Pueblo and loaned them out to exhibits nationwide. The increasing interest in these exhibits and the support from Pueblo made it the perfect spot to open the first Leonardo da Vinci Museum in North America. Plus, the area’s connection to steelmaking and manufacturing makes it an ideal place to celebrate Leonardo da Vinci’s genius and inspire future generations to explore STEAM fields.

Is this a history museum?
Not entirely. The Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America is an expansive science and art focused museum to explore the genius of Leonardo da Vinci’s contributions to our world. It is not meant as a history museum solely focused on the man himself.

When will the museum open?
With a space now secured, we will begin renovation on the interior for exhibitions. We are hoping to launch by late fall 2025.
